“Eat Bad” is yours for free

So, after putting more effort into this project than most people would call sane, even had family members dismissing me as some kind of idiot, I tried giving it away for free and posted it on the /r/fitness subreddit only, with hopes it would finally meet the people who could make the most of it. All I got was abuse, rudeness, a ban, and a power trip…

I thought I was plenty gentle on the premise “Eat Bad” was being given away because I genuinely have given up. In the Reddit post I explained the time invested into this project and over $1000 spent in trying to advertise it.

Then I get an instant ban with the message: “Your SPAM isn’t welcome here”.

Seems a bit harsh! This was not SPAM. I’m not sending this out into people’s faces everywhere through email or posting it on tonnes of websites. It was only posted to one subreddit in the hopes of getting comments that I could follow which would possibly lead to helping someone. At this point my Reddit account is 9 years old, and since the ban mentions that if I have any questions I should contact the moderator team… Well I guess I have a query.

And all I gor was an immediate ban on contacting the moderator team for 72 hours. Notice the alarming language that follows. Apparently I “blew up” into the subreddit dumping a “commercial”.  Was also accused of telling them how to moderate their community, and my worthless opinion can go right back up my holes. Oh the violence of my brutal actions!

Hmm, no.  I was asking a question about my post, not about how they run your community. They didn’t even put the effort to see if it was SPAM or not. It isn’t. Here’s a quote for you: “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.” –  Abraham H. Maslow (1962), Toward a Psychology of Being

You really lived up to the cliche: With limited tools, single-minded people apply them inappropriately or indiscriminately.

So here it is folks. “Eat Bad”, too edgy for Reddit!

Anyway, rant over. Download “Eat Bad” here for free…

EAT BAD – GO FAT TO SLIM

Hope someone finds it useful.

Can you just eat less to lose weight?

The answer is… No! Thanks for coming. Buy my book!

What? That’s not enough for you? Then, why is it most people think they can simply eat less to lose weight?

You’d think that eating less causes a reduction in stored fat, but in reality our metabolism sees less energy coming in and starts reducing the expenditure. We move less, we feel tired and less motivated as a result.

This also primes us to regain the weight back when the inevitable happens. What is this ‘inevitable’ I speak of?

We seek comfort in food. Stress makes us eat. Lack of pleasure or stimulus makes us frustrated and we eat. How long do you think we can go without the comforting pleasure of food?

The numbers show most people give up after a week. Some crazies will even last a month. All of them will gain their weight back, and put some more on ‘for good measure’.

In a cruel perversion of justice, eating less only causes our metabolism to slow down. And we then face the inevitable, eating with gusto and extra relish.

Then we turn to the media and they say you can lose those extra pounds if you buy their pill or their latest ‘ab smasher’ device.

The correct path to weight loss is free from pills, teas, cleanses, detox, liposuction, or extra purchases. They want you to believe that more buying is necessary for losing weight. I’ll tell you a secret… Less buying is involved!

This is why, thanks to marketing pressures, misinformation runs riot.

But how do you really lose weight then and keep it off? The answer is simple… Real foods.

If whatever you buy comes with a list of ingredients… You got duped!

In ‘Eat Bad’ we take a deep look into ‘refining’ and how bad it is. Every time our food was involved in a process with added ingredients the chances are, this thing is going to be really tasty, not very filling, and you can’t wait until you buy some more.

But for health, the most our food should be subjected to is some heat. That’s it. No refining allowed.

Don’t believe me?

Cool! Let’s try this experiment. Go to the supermarket and buy your favorite fruit, whatever it is. Now, for lunch go on Netflix and start watching your favorite show and eat as much fruit as you can until you feel full.

If your favorite fruit is apples or oranges, chances are you start feeling full around the tenth you consume. Sounds right to you? Awesome!

Tomorrow we’re going to try something different for lunch. This time, you’re actually going to eat a normal meal. But I want you to juice the same number of apples or oranges you managed to eclipse 24 hours ago during your Netflix bonanza.

Notice the difference? There isn’t any! You will gladly drink the juice with your meal and don’t even feel fuller than last time. This should make your ‘spider sense’ go wild!

Are you now getting an idea of what ‘refining’ our food really means to our health?

I really hope this message has helped you.

Nothing beats this for weight loss…

There is a sucker born every minute. Buy my crystals! Have these pills! So many promises… Such lacking results.

Our TV is full of these:

“Buy this abdominal cruncher to get rid of the belly!” – If you haven’t guessed, you cannot spot-reduce fat.

“Take these amazing pills with TWO FULL GLASSES OF WATER!” – Yeah, the weight loss, if any, will come from filling your belly with water and being unable to eat as much.

“This weight loss bracelet will make you lighter!” – from your wallet…

Often the word “natural” will be attached to make it sound more plausible and true. Drowning is “natural” and so is Cyanide and both will quickly kill us. The amount of nonsense you can hear at the gym or in the media goes on and on.

Beware of fitness buzzwords like:

  • antioxidants
  • biological
  • cleanse
  • detox
  • gluten-free
  • natural
  • non-gmo
  • organic
  • superfood
  • toxins

Quoting straight from “Eat Bad”:

“Let me put it plain and simple… Nothing here is what it seems. If you eat too many chickens, you don’t grow feathers. If you eat foods with high cholesterol, you don’t collapse from a blocked esophagus. If you eat sugar, you don’t become a lollipop. Then, why would you think If you eat fat you become obese?”

Just food for thought!

Why are we always hungry in 2018?

Dietary guidelines are saying charming, self-qualifying, words like ‘eat a balanced healthy diet’. Can you see it? It’s a contradiction!   You can’t have a healthy diet if you are eating the same quantities from all food groups. There is no ‘balance’! It’s isn’t healthy, and the number of obese and diabetic clearly show this.

Type 2 diabetes was a disease for people over the age of 65 just 50 years ago. Now, even children are getting diabetes before their teenage years. My sources are Dr Robert Lustig, and this is discussed at length in ‘Eat Bad’ from many converging angles.   We have a huge nutrition problem today, and it doesn’t just affect the sedentary population.

Chapter II

The dreaded exercise

“Start wide, expand further, and never look back.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

Exercising your options...

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to spend 2 to 3 hours at the gym. Nor do you need to do aerobic exercise for an hour or more. You can if you want, and done properly it can be very healthy. The ideal weight training session should be shorter than 30 to 45 minutes. Any higher than that and your cortisol levels rise too much and your body will start eating your muscles for energy.

The first pages from the first Chapter of ‘Eat Bad’…

Continuing from yesterday, I’m posting more from the book…

Chapter I

Understanding Nutrition
And The Body

Happy is the one who knows the causes of things
in Georgics (c. 37BC), Virgil

Let’s diet!

Right. Where to begin? Diet? “I’m on a diet.” – Yep, 100% of the humans, animals, insects, and even plants are on a diet.

From Wikipedia: “Diet (nutrition), the sum of the food consumed by an organism or group”

Most people use this word in a phrase like: “I’m on a diet.”

The intended meaning: “I’ll do this thing for a short while, and then go back to stuffing my mouth full of cake, just like always!”

Dieting on the other hand is the deliberate selection and restriction of food in order to promote weight loss. And this is done incorrectly by the majority of people resulting in health complications.

Everyone seems to want their relief in a pill. Well, let me spare you years of trial and error and give you a wide embracing summary of the science of fad diets: THEY DON’T WORK!

The first pages of the book “Eat Bad”…

The text below are the first pages from ‘Eat Bad’…

Welcome!

We know what we are,
but know not what we may be”
William Shakespeare

This guide started its life on the 25th of October of 2010 as an email I sent to a work colleague who wanted help to lose some of the extra blubber he was carrying around the midsection. Shortly after, other requests for help ensued and this text grew into a “part two”, and even a “part three”. Now it has grown many parts over.

We’ll spend most of our time focusing on nutrition, food, and chocolate mousse. Exercise will be more of a side note at the end.

In this journey we are going to tackle myths, learn cheat codes, smash misconceptions, and expand our horizons. Be ready for discovery.

The ‘Upside Down’ of losing weight…

Anyone who has tried to lose weight has noticed how quickly it returns once we stop dieting. We see this pattern many times over… Anyone who has tried to lose weight has noticed how quickly it returns once we stop dieting. We see this pattern many times over…

Most weight loss programs will cause an initial reduction in weight that bears ever diminishing results, and then we give up. Within a short period we regain the weight back, and immediately end up heavier than what we started while still eating less.

Finally published…

That’s right. Seven years in the making, over 500 kilos of chocolate consumed, and presto!

To lose weight you need to be a rebel. You can eat a ‘healthy balanced diet’ and do what everyone else does OR you can learn that most of the advice on losing weight misses the mark. Here’s a sample from the first chapter…
